Sorry we’ve been away for so long, and I’m afraid this will probably be a short post as well…
Sam and I have found ourselves incredibly busy the past few weeks; we’ve been putting the “finishing touches” on the play we’ve been working on for several months now, and just we’ve finished filming yet another film.
INDEED! I wrote a short pilot script for a hypothetical series, as sort of situation comedy following four characters who think that they are old, and highly recognizable pop-culture icons. This list includes Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart(actually a bit more of a pastiche of many film detectives) and Andy Warhol as the eccentric artist. The story follows the lead character, and the only character without a “role model” as he tries to find a viable source of income.
As well, we tried out some new equipment, using what is called the Zoom H2 Pocket Recorder for sound(fantastic device; I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking to record… Well, anything.) and of course the Canon. Also, we’re trying out some new tricks with Final Cut on this one, and chose a large cast. So, I guess we were trying to ease ourselves back into the spirit of filming to put together a larger effort for some film fests around the area.
Also, some time has recently been freed up this month, so I’m putting together an easily filmable feature-length film. It takes place over 4 seasons, and therefore a portion of the film would be filmed in each season, so we wouldn’t have to work extremely hard to finish it… Film it incrementally.
So we are not dead yet, as the lack of posts may have made you think, but with all this… writing… we may be soon.
